Virtual Terminal is a fast, secure, and easy way to accept card payments from your computer

Virtual Terminal is a secure online app that lets you take card payments using your computer. Simply enter a customer’s card details and process a card transaction online. There’s no need for a physical card reader or any other expensive hardware. Instead, your computer becomes a secure payment terminal – and your customer may pay from anywhere. Virtual Terminal is a web-based application you access via the Enterprise Business Centre. All you need is an internet connection and web browser, and you can process card payments securely over the phone or in person.

Getting Started

Create a sandbox account

Creating a sandbox account allows you to start programmatic integration to our platform and provides access to the Smartpay Fuse Portal Virtual Terminal.

  1. Visit our sandbox creation page: https://developer.smartpayfuse.barclaycard/hello-world/sandbox.html.
  2. Complete the registration form, accept the terms and conditions, and click Create Account to create your sandbox account.

You receive an automated email from our partner, Smartpay Fuse. This email includes instructions for your first log in and password reset. If you do not receive the email within five minutes after you submit your form, check your email junk folder.

Access the Virtual Terminal in the Smartpay Fuse Portal

  1. Log in to the Smartpay Fuse Portal (https://admin.smartpayfuse-test.barclaycard/ebc2) using the username and password you created for your sandbox account.

  2. When prompted, set a new password for your Smartpay Fuse Portal account.
  3. Navigate to the Virtual Terminal page in the Smartpay Fuse Portal by choosing Virtual Terminal from the Smartpay Fuse Portal left navigation pane. The Virtual Terminal page provides these options: 
    • One-Time Payment: this option, which is the primary method for manual transaction entry, allows you to process a one-time payment. 
    • Terminal Settings: this option allows you to configure Virtual Terminal settings, and payment types and options.
    • Batch Transaction Upload: this option allows you to process multiple payments. 

Continue with Step 3: Capture the Transaction Processing Information.

Capture the Transaction Processing Information

  1. Choose the One-Time Payment option from the Virtual Terminal page. The Order Details page displays. 

  2. Enter the required information in the Order Details page and click Next. The Customer Information page of the payment form displays.

  3. Enter the required information in the Customer Information page of the payment form and click Next. The Payment Information page of the payment form displays. 

  4. Enter the required information in the Payment Information part of the payment form and click Submit. 

You can store the cardholder's payment method for future transactions by checking the two check boxes below the Credit Card Type field. Selecting these options stores the required Scheme Reference Data that is required to process future transactions using this payment card. 

Congratulations, you processed a transaction using the Virtual Terminal.
